The Robinson family intended to establish a farm at the remote house they purchased.

In less than four months, Mrs. Robinson gave birth to her second child, a boy. They began setting up the child’s room as soon as they moved into the new home so that it would be ready for the arrival of the new family member.

The Robinsons were animal enthusiasts, and because the owner of the apartment they lived in forbade them from having a dog, they now want at least one puppy.

To select a dog, the two spouses visited an animal shelter with their 6-year-old kid, Matias. They were hoping for a non-aggressive dog who would grow up with the farm’s kids.

They were unsure of which puppy to chose after seeing the paddocks and hearing the depressing tales of multiple pets.

They said goodbye to Benson, a 4-year-old pit bull, at the conclusion of their visit. He appeared to have lost all faith in mankind as he stood back with his head bent and his tail between his knees.

When the volunteers at the animal shelter were asked to tell the Robinson family Benson’s background, they informed them that he had a very unhappy life. After being used in dog fights, he was left on the streets until he was discovered by volunteers. Benson was adopted by a couple after spending some time at the dog shelter, but after just two weeks, he was returned due to behavioral issues and aggression towards his owners.

Mr. Robinson persisted on giving Benson a chance, so they adopted him even though the volunteers did not advise that he be adopted by a family with children. Benson was not used to walking on a leash, so even the drive to the car was challenging, but they eventually made it home.

Benson displayed extreme withdrawal, shyness, and suspicion at the beginning. However, Benson gradually adapted and grew close to all of the family—especially Matias.

They brought the newborn home after Mrs. Robinson gave birth and presented him to Benson. He licked his cheek lightly and scented the infant. The owners were immediately certain that Benson was a great dog and that they would get along.

When Benson was just two months old, the Robinsons were startled out of sleep one night by his loud barking. He began biting the crib in an attempt to get to the infant despite his constant barking and inability to get past the crib’s safety bars. The Robinsons were initially terrified, believing Benson was attempting to harm the child, but as soon as they had the infant in their arms, they realized that it had stopped breathing.

He was taken to a neighboring hospital in a hurry, where medical professionals performed CPR on him. The infant would have perished if he had been in cardiorespiratory arrest for longer than thirty minutes, the doctor informed the parents.

Benson rose to fame and demonstrated that nothing happens by chance. Benson, a dog who no one gave a chance to, was spared by the Robinson family, and he ultimately saved their infant.
