How can there be so much indifference?
This tiny puppy was collapsing outside a store.
Right behind him, people were drinking and blasting music — while he lay there, fighting to breathe.
His belly was so swollen he could barely move.
We picked him up immediately and rushed to the vet.
What you see is not fat. It is not simple parasites.
He has ascites. Hemoparasites.
Severe anemia — his hemoglobin was only 3.
Liver problems. Extreme malnutrition.
How did he survive on the streets?
It feels impossible that such a small body could endure so much.
And yet, here he is — a tiny warrior still fighting.
We named him Pipe.
Thankfully, he eats well.
That small appetite is a sign of hope.
Pipe needs medication, constant monitoring, and continued hospitalization.
His prognosis is still reserved.
But we are giving him everything.
Every day, we stay close to him. We encourage him.
We remind him he is not alone.
For the first time in his life, he knows what love feels like.
His condition has not improved much yet.
The road ahead is long.
He will remain hospitalized for several more weeks.
But we will not give up on him. And when he is finally strong enough,
we will find him the forever home he has always deserved.
