The stray dog was stαrving, emaciated to skin and bones, but it refused food from kind-hearted people

I encountered a skinny stray dog on the road.

Its eyes were filled with vigilance and helplessness.

Its body was emaciated, with bones clearly visible, and its belly was sunken.

Most of the hair on its back was gone.

I couldn’t imagine what it had been through.

It kept its distance while curiously observing me.

It was a beautiful Pomeranian. It was once the beloved pet of its owner.

Now, it struggled to survive on the streets.

Nobody knows how long it had gone without food.

The dog ran to the roadside to search for food, but it found nothing but dry leaves.

I bought a snack to feed it.

The dog was scared and didn’t dare approach.

I tossed the food on the ground, thinking it would eat.

But after sniffing it, the dog ran away.

I thought it didn’t like the smell, so I switched to dog food.

It wasn’t interested in that either.

I ended up giving it some water.

It eagerly licked the bottle cap with its tongue, drinking fast and frantically.

It seemed like it hadn’t had water for a long time.

Maybe it hadn’t drunk clean water in ages, or it was just grateful for the sudden kindness from a stranger.

Gradually, it let down its guard.

The dog still refused to eat the dog food.

It lay listlessly on the ground, dozing off.

The next day, I returned to the spot where I met it before.

Seeing me from afar, it ran over excitedly.

It had already recognized me.

Its little tail wagged non-stop with excitement.

Seeing no resistance, I cautiously picked it up and placed it in a box to take to the hospital.

The vet conducted a thorough examination.

X-rays were taken.

B.l σod tests were done.

Sensing that everyone was trying to save it, it cooperated fully.

We found some large, live ticks on its body.

The vet said it was a male dog, about 3 years old.

The diagnosis revealed it had alopecia.

It had swollen lymph nodes and inflammation.

Its stomach wasn’t in great shape either.

The vet arranged for hospitalization and injections.

A few days later, I took my pet dog to visit it at the hospital.

As soon as it saw me, it got very excited.

It was in much better spirits. Its ribs were no longer visible.

Its body had become rounder and healthier.

It was well taken care of at the hospital.

It also got rid of its picky eating habits.

It became more lively and adorable.

I often took it outside to enjoy the sun.

Now, it fully trusted and relied on me.

Every time I left, it was reluctant to see me go.

It held onto my arm, not letting me leave.

Deep inside, it was still insecure, afraid of being a.b αndoned again.

I named it “Lucky,”

hoping that in the future, it would stay away from danger and s.u ƒfering, and always be blessed by luck.

I took Lucky out of the hospital and brought him home.

His fur slowly started growing back.

He became the newest member of my family, bringing us lots of joy and companionship.

From refusing to eat anything at the beginning to now being so eager for food
that we need a slow feeder bowl.

Lucky’s transformation is astonishing.

Looking back at how skinny and frail he once was, and now a refined little dog, it truly feels like a rebirth.

I hope he will always live under the sunlight, feeling love and warmth.
