At the Manali Strays, India, a stray dog with fluid in the abdomen needed help.
The moment rescuers arrived, they were shocked by the dog’s condition.
The dog had an enlarged and expanded abdomen, the area that was overtaking his body.

The rescuer named him Sheffi.
He looked so sad and in discomfort.
Thankfully, he was taken to Manali Strays in time.
It was most likely caused by an inoperable t.u ḿor.

There were tons of fluids in his belly.
The vet managed to drain the fluid from his belly using a syringe.
The vet removed 20 liters of fluid over the month.
It would come back again, so the vet had to keep removing it.
Sheffi is now on daily medication to stop the fluid from returning.
He got much better after just one month.
However, Sheffi will live forever at the shelter.
The vet said he cannot release Sheffi back to the street,
because he needs a long time of medical treatment.
He will live forever at the shelter.
We hope people keep more awareness of care, love, and kindness for all animals.
