I found this in a flooded ditch. I caught it and brought it home in a jar.

I came across this creature in a water-filled ditch after the rain… and honestly, I had never seen anything like it.

At first, I thought it was something really strange — maybe a parasite or some kind of weird creature that appeared out of nowhere.

Its body is long, with segments, and those thin “tails” at the back… Honestly, it has a bit of a prehistoric look.

I stood there watching it for a while, not really daring to get too close.

The more I looked at it, the more intriguing it became.

But after doing a bit of research, the answer turned out to be much more fascinating than s.c αry.

👉 It’s actually a Triops, a small crustacean often called a “living fossil.”

These creatures have existed for hundreds of millions of years, long before the dinosaurs. They often appear in temporary puddles and ditches after rain, because their eggs can remain dormant in the soil for years.

So nothing d.a חgerous. Not a parasite.

Just a tiny prehistoric creature reappearing after the rain.

👇 Answer: a Triops (prehistoric crustacean).
