After a long day, all I wanted to do was rest. I lay down on my bed, and a few minutes later, I heard a faint cracking sound coming from beneath the mattress.
At first, I didn’t pay much attention to it. But then I heard it a second time. Curious, I grabbed my phone, shined the flashlight under the bed, and lifted the mattress.
That’s when I spotted dozens of small dark shapes clustered on the bed slats. My heart skipped a beat. 😨
I stood frozen for a few seconds before moving closer. Some looked like tiny dried insects, while others appeared to be empty shells. The more I looked at them, the less I understood what I was seeing.
I took several photos and then spent nearly an hour searching for answers online. I even started imagining all kinds of disturbing scenarios. 😅
Eventually, after showing the pictures to several people, the mystery was solved.
It turned out to be a collection of carpet beetles and their shed skins that had gradually accumulated under the mattress over time. 😳
