I went into my son’s room to do some cleaning. When I was about to vacuum under the bed, I discovered this.
At first glance, I honestly thought it was some kind of tiny armadillo or strange creature. The shape looked almost animal-like, and that long pointed extension made it seem even more bizarre.
I picked it up carefully and spent the next half hour sitting on the floor staring at it, trying to figure out what I was looking at. The more I examined it, the more confused I became. It looked too small to be any mammal, too detailed to be a piece of trash, and too strange to be something ordinary.
I even started wondering if it was some kind of dried-up insect or a creature my son had brought inside without telling me.
After searching online and comparing photos, I finally found the answer.
👉 It turned out to be a dried chrysalis of a large moth (a hawk moth/sphinx moth).
That long pointed part isn’t a st.i חger at all — it’s actually the protective case for the moth’s future proboscis. What looked like a mysterious creature under the bed was simply an old, dried moth chrysalis.
Honestly, I never would have guessed it. 😳
