We bought a large house not far from the city and moved there with our whole family from our small home. The house was old, and almost everything inside it seemed to have been left untouched for years.
While I was putting my clothes and belongings away, I decided to clean out an old wooden dresser that had been standing in one of the bedrooms.
I opened the first drawer and found nothing unusual. But when I pulled out the second drawer, something metallic caught my eye.
I reached inside and pulled it out.
At first, none of us could figure out what we were looking at. It was heavy, strangely shaped, and covered with small details and markings. It almost looked like some kind of mechanical part or an old piece of equipment.
I called everyone over, and soon the whole family was standing around the dresser, passing it from one person to another and trying to guess what it could have been used for.
My father thought it might have belonged to an old machine. My brother said it looked like some kind of strange toy, while my mother was convinced it had something to do with an old household appliance.
The more we looked at it, the more questions we had. There were no obvious buttons or instructions, and we couldn’t find anything else in the house that seemed to belong with it.
Eventually, I took a few photos and started searching for similar objects online.
After comparing several pictures, we finally discovered what it was.
👉 It was an old metal spinning top — a vintage toy designed to be spun by hand.
We never expected to find something like that hidden inside an old dresser. It makes us wonder how many other forgotten objects are still hiding somewhere in this house.
