I’ve been staring at it for at least half an hour now, trying to make sense of it. At first glance, it looked really disturbing — soft, pale, kind of slimy, and with these weird folds that made it look almost like something organic… maybe even alive.
My brain immediately went into overdrive.
Was it some kind of parasite? Something that came out of the drain? Mold that had somehow grown overnight because of the humidity? The bathroom is always a bit warm and damp, so it didn’t seem impossible.
The more I looked at it, the worse it got. The texture looked uneven and fibrous, like it could t.e αr apart easily. Some parts were darker, almost like they were starting to decay. I didn’t even want to touch it at first — it just gave off a really strange vibe.
I even checked around the bathroom to see if there was anything similar nearby. Nothing. Just this one weird thing sitting there like it didn’t belong.
At that point, curiosity took over. I grabbed some tissue and carefully poked it… and that’s when things started to make a bit more sense. It wasn’t moving, it wasn’t reacting — it just kind of collapsed under slight pressure.
That’s when it hit me.
The color, the softness, the fibrous look… it all started to feel oddly familiar.
I thought back to what we had eaten recently… and then I remembered.
A banana.
And suddenly everything made sense.
In a humid environment like a bathroom, a piece of banana can quickly break down, absorb moisture, and turn into this strange, mushy, almost unrecognizable form. The texture changes completely, the color darkens in spots, and it ends up looking way more disturbing than it actually is.
So after all that overthinking and mild panic…
It turns out it’s just a piece of banana that was dropped in the bathroom and, because of the humidity, it softened, broke down, and ended up looking like something much c.r ℮epier than it really is.
