My mother-in-law recently p.a śsed away after a long battle with liver c.a חcer. While going through her belongings, my husband and I found this strange wooden object tucked away in an old dresser drawer.
At first, we thought it might have been some kind of old tool, but neither of us could figure out what it was actually used for. Its shape is so unusual, and it looks like something that could have been used in the kitchen many years ago.
We took it out, placed it on the table, and spent quite a while examining it from every angle. The more we looked at it, the more confused we became.
Does anyone know what this is?
It turns out that it is an old-fashioned wooden potato masher/pounding tool, traditionally used for crushing and mashing cooked food, such as potatoes or other vegetables.
