Madeleine McCann, a girl who disappeared from a Portuguese resort, is «d.e αd and b.u ŕied in woods six miles from where she disappeared,» claims psychic Michael Schneider, who claimed to have given police the «precise coordinates» of her body’s location. This year, Schneider has had success in missing persons cases in Germany and Italy, so police are not dismissing his claims.
Police are planning to investigate new allegations that the body of British girl Madeleine McCann was b.u ŕied in woods just six miles from the Portuguese resort where she was last seen before disappearing. According to the Daily Mail, 50-year-old psychic Michael Schneider gave police the «precise coordinates» of the location where he believes the re.m αins of the missing girl may be. He claimed to have informed law enforcement that Madeleine was «d.e αd and b.u ŕied in the woods six miles from where she went missing.»
Last month, the psychic passed on details to investigators at the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), and now Senior Prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters has confirmed that his team has used similar methods in previous cases.
Following Madeleine’s disappearance, the investigation involved a number of psychics: the girl’s parents had been studying «credible» clues from psychics as early as 2007.
A £2 million police investigation, launched in 2012, also examined calls from psychics who had previously been ignored in the search for the girl.
Former television journalist Michael Schneider recently achieved success in finding people, helping police investigate missing persons cases in Germany and Italy this year alone. Specifically, in May, he helped solve the case of a missing woman in Germany, and earlier this year, he discovered the b.o đies of mu.r d℮red Italian couple Peter Neumayr and Laura Percelli. His clairvoyant technique, according to the Daily Mail, involves examining photographs of a missing person and asking God whether this being is alive or d.e αd before consulting atlases and Google Maps to find their whereabouts.
Schneider told the Mirror: «I don’t disclose such information lightly or without constantly questioning myself, because I’m very aware of the responsibility of what I do. I’m happy that the BKA seems to take me seriously. Often you have a reputation as a freak or someone just trying to squeeze money out of someone, and that hu.r ŧs. I never take money.»
As the Daily Mail notes, Schneider’s statements will be a further b.l σw to Madeleine’s grieving parents, who vowed on her 18th birthday to «never give up hope.»
However, Michael Schneider is not the first psychic to claim supernatural powers helped him locate Madeleine. Nine years ago, detectives reviewed dozens of psychic recordings that had previously been ignored and dismissed as a «waste of resources.»
Maddy McCann, then three years old, disappeared from her apartment in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007. The story became one of the world’s most famous missing persons investigations.
Portuguese authorities closed the investigation in July 2008, but Maddy’s parents continued the search with the help of private investigators. Scotland Yard launched its own investigation, Operation Grange, in 2011, and it is ongoing.
Police investigating the disappearance of a young girl believe she was mu.r đered in Portugal by a 44-year-old German suspect, Christian Bruckner.
