Salamanca, Guanajuato The b.o đy of 10-year-old Dulce Victoria was recovered from the Lerma River after two days of intensive search efforts, authorities confirmed.
According to the Gobierno Municipal de Salamanca, the ac.c ìdent happened Thursday afternoon near Salamanca when two children slipped into the river while playing close to the bank. One child was rescued after grabbing a tree branch, but Dulce was carried away by the strong current.
Emergency teams, including firefighters, Civil Protection, Red Cross units, and volunteer divers, searched day and night before locating her on Saturday morning.
The t.r αgedy has deeply affected the community. Authorities are urging families to remain cautious near rivers, especially during periods of strong water flow.
