I came across it almost by chance. The object immediately caught my attention: small, made of metal, with a strange mechanism and an old-fashioned look. It clearly seemed to have a story, so I thought, “Why not?” and took it with me.
Once I got home, curiosity took over. I examined it from every angle, trying to understand how it worked… At first, I was convinced it was some kind of old lighter or a small mechanical tool. But something didn’t quite add up.
Then I looked at the bottom… and that’s when everything changed. There were several small metal pieces lined up, almost like tiny b.l αdes. That’s when I realized this was definitely not an ordinary object.
After a bit of research, the answer surprised me — and honestly, s.h σcked me a little too.
👉 It’s actually an old medical scarificator, once used for b.l σodletting. With an internal spring mechanism, small b.l αdes would briefly extend to make superficial c.u ŧs in the skin. At the time, people believed this practice helped treat various ill.n ℮sses and “rebalance” the body.
It’s fascinating — and a bit unsettling — to see how much medicine has evolved since then. An object that seemed ordinary at first glance actually hides a very unusual history.
Honestly, I never expected that when I bought it…
