My younger brother is still in school.

My younger brother was getting ready for school this morning, and I decided to do something small to make his day better. I grabbed a candy and went to sneak it into his backpack.

But when I opened it… I froze.

Inside, wrapped in a piece of tissue, were dozens of small white oval objects with strange gray lines all over them. At first glance, they looked almost like tiny eggs… or maybe something alive. My mind immediately started racing.

Why would he have these?
Where did he even get them?
And why were they hidden so carefully?

I called my parents, and within minutes we were all standing there, staring at them like it was some kind of mystery. Nobody had seen anything like it before. The more we looked, the weirder it felt. They were smooth, cold, perfectly shaped… almost too perfect.

For a moment, I even wondered if we should be worried.

After about half an hour of confusion, curiosity got the best of me, so I decided to look it up.

And the answer turned out to be way simpler than we expected…

👉 They’re just polished stones made from howlite.

People often use them to help relieve stress — you can hold them in your hand, roll them between your fingers, and it has a calming effect. Maybe school has been a bit stressful for him lately, and this is his way of coping.

Still… definitely not what I expected to find in his backpack.
