This morning I stepped out onto my balcony like I usually do, just to get some fresh air and start the day… but what I saw on the floor immediately stopped me.
Right near the doormat were these strange, soft, pale things lying on the wood. At first, I honestly thought it was something from a h.o ŕror movie. One of them looked stretched out, the other curled up, and there was this weird slimy substance around them.
I just stood there staring for a good minute, trying to process what I was looking at. My first thought was: “Did something crawl in here?” Then I started wondering if it fell from somewhere above… or if an animal brought it.
The more I looked, the stranger it seemed. They didn’t move, but they definitely didn’t look like anything I had ever seen on my balcony before. I even called someone over to take a look, and we both just stood there, confused and slightly disturbed.
For almost an hour, I kept coming back to check on it, hoping it would somehow make more sense… but it didn’t.
Eventually, I decided to look it up and ask around, and the answer turned out to be much less s.c αry than I imagined…
👉 They’re actually beetle larvae (grubs) that likely came from soil nearby or were dropped there by a bird.
