I went into the garage in the evening like I usually do, not expecting anything unusual… but something in the corner immediately caught my attention.

At first glance, it looked like a pile of random debris under the shelf. But when I got closer, I realized it was something completely different. There were dozens of small white oval objects scattered along the wall. Some were perfectly intact, while others were b.r σken into thin shell pieces.

For a moment, I just stood there, trying to understand what I was looking at. It honestly looked like something had hatched there. The floor was covered with tiny fragments, and the whole scene felt oddly unsettling.

My first thought was rodents—but that didn’t make sense. Rats don’t lay eggs. Then I started thinking about insects, but these were too large and too solid to be anything like that.

I crouched down and looked even closer. The shells were firm, not soft, and many were cracked open in a way that looked… intentional, like something had come out from inside. That’s when it really started to feel strange. If something had hatched here, where did it go?

I checked around the garage, looked behind boxes, under shelves… nothing. No movement, no sound. Just silence and those empty shells.

I even called someone over to take a look, just to make sure I wasn’t overthinking it. We both stood there, staring at the same corner, asking the same question: what could this possibly be?

After spending way too much time trying to figure it out, I finally decided to look it up and ask around. And the answer turned out to be much simpler—and honestly, kind of fascinating.

👉 These are lizard eggs, most likely from a small gecko, and some of them have already hatched.
