I was peacefully walking near the village lake. It was almost completely silent — only the wind in the tall grass and a few birds in the distance could be heard. As I passed by the old wooden bridge, I suddenly noticed something enormous in the water.
At first, I froze. From a distance, it really looked like some strange creature hiding beneath the surface. The object was perfectly round, huge, with a bizarre texture covered in hundreds of tiny white patterns. Part of it was dark, almost b.u ŕned-looking, and the hole in the middle made it seem even more like something was staring back at me from the water.
For a few seconds, I even considered calling someone. The longer I looked at it, the wilder my imagination became. I kept wondering how something like that could end up here, in a small artificial lake surrounded by fields.
Curiosity eventually overcame the fear. I slowly walked closer to the edge to get a better look. The water moved slightly around the object, and honestly, at that moment I was convinced it was going to move. Even after staring at it from every angle for several minutes, I still had no idea what it was.
A few villagers stopped to look too. Everyone had their own theory: some said it was an old fishing trap, others thought it was abandoned mili.t αry equipment or even some strange aquatic plant. One woman swore she had never seen anything like it in twenty years.
Finally, an old man from the village approached us with a smile. He explained that it wasn’t mysterious at all. It was simply an old rubber inner tube left in the water for years. Over time, moss, algae, and microorganisms had covered the entire surface, giving it that completely unreal appearance.
Honestly… even after learning the truth, it’s still one of the creepiest things I’ve ever seen in a lake 😅
