I live alone, and ten days ago I left town to visit my family. Before I left, everything in my apartment was completely normal. The bathroom was clean, and I hadn’t noticed anything unusual.
When I came home today, I went into the bathroom and immediately spotted this strange thing near the wall. My heart started beating faster. Honestly, I had never seen anything like it in my life.
At first, I thought some kind of insect had built a nest while I was away. Then I wondered if it could be eggs or even some strange creature. The longer I stared at it, the more unsettling it seemed.
I didn’t even want to get too close. I took a photo from a distance and spent several minutes trying to figure out what I was looking at. Later, I showed the picture to several people, and everyone gave a completely different answer.
After doing some research, I finally discovered what it really was.

It was simply a slime mold, a strange organism that had developed because of the moisture that built up while I was away.
