I went to the seaside for ten days on vacation. When I came back home and walked into the bathroom, I discovered this. Honestly, at first I was really scared. Then I started looking at it carefully, trying to figure out what it was, but I still couldn’t understand it.
My first thought was that it was some kind of snake. The thing was long, dark, and looked almost alive lying there in the bathtub. For a moment, I seriously considered calling a neighbor to come and look at it because I didn’t want to touch it.
The stranger part was where it seemed to be coming from. It was hanging out of the overflow drain, as if it had crawled out from inside the plumbing while I was away. The more I looked at it, the more confused I became.
I spent nearly an hour searching online and comparing photos. Some people suggested it might be a d.e αd animal, while others thought it was some kind of fungus or strange sea creature.
But the real answer turned out to be much less dramatic.
👉 It was a massive buildup of hair, soap residue, body oils, mold, and other debris that had accumulated inside the bathtub overflow pipe over many years. Eventually, the clog loosened and worked its way out, creating this long black mass.
Honestly, I was relieved when I found out what it really was. For a few minutes, I was convinced something had moved into my bathroom while I was on vacation. 😅
