I was walking around a lake when I noticed several small depressions on the bottom, each filled with perfectly round spheres. At first glance, I thought they were eggs from some aquatic animal. Some of the balls were light beige, others slightly pinkish, and the way they were grouped together made the scene even stranger.
For quite a while, I tried to figure out whether they were frog eggs, fish eggs, or something else living in the lake. But something didn’t seem right: all of the “eggs” were exactly the same size and had an almost perfect shape.
Eventually, the mystery was solved. 😅
It turned out they weren’t eggs at all—they were golf balls.
There is a golf course right next to the lake. Some of the balls had been hit too far, landed in the water, and remained on the bottom. Over time, the water currents and sediment created small depressions around them, giving the illusion of nests filled with eggs.
