Lynda Wiesmeier: Cause of death, Playboy career, movies

Actress Lynda Wiesmeier gained notoriety for a few noteworthy movies.

It’s a specific picture of her, though, that has drawn notice recently since it seems to capture a moment in time.

Lynda Ann Wiesmeier, a classic blonde bombshell whose curvaceous form adorned the pages of Playboy Magazine, was born in Washington, D.C., in 1963.

Her father was a doctor in the U.S. Air Force at Bitburg, Germany, where she started her voyage. Before Lynda finally settled in sunny Los Angeles, the family relocated quite a few times. She also lived for a while in Bound Brook, New Jersey, where she frequently visited the Jersey coast to sunbathe.

starring in a zombie film

Lynda enjoyed working and being active, juggling three careers: acting, modeling, and medical office secretarial work.

Playboy noticed her attractiveness in 1982 and included her as the centerfold Playmate in their July issue. Lynda went through a fast-paced period in her entertainment career after joining Playmate, appearing in movies that highlighted her gorgeous natural body. She starred in films such as R.S.V.P. (1984), Malibu Express (1985), Teen Wolf (1985), and Real Genius (1985).

The last film

However, her last movie may have been the one that made Lynda Wiesmeier famous. She was chosen to play Dianne in the zombie horror movie Evil Town in 1987.

The iconic Dean Jagger played the part of a crazy scientist who is searching for perpetual youth in the movie. His technique? Of course, making a medication from human pituitary fluid. Things took a turn for the worst as he retrieved the fluid; the unfortunate donors were turned into mindless zombies as a result.

In an intriguing turn of events, Keith Hefner, the younger brother of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, was also featured in Evil Town. The movie has a strong Playboy connection because Lynda and Keith were both involved. The movie was supposed to open on June 3, 1987, but because of the excitement, many cinemas began showing it on June 2. But in all of the excitement, Evil Town fell short of expectations.

It was criticized by critics who referred to it as a “silly horror film.” All Movie Guide’s Cavett Binion noted that the picture was “spiced up with some gratuitous nudity courtesy of former Playboy Playmate Lynda Wiesmeier” and that it was a mashup of footage from previous movies, including an unfinished effort from the 1970s. Aww!

Fortunately, Lynda Wiesmeier was bound to make a brief return. In the years since its premiere, a specific scene from Evil Town has, for some reason, become extremely popular.

It’s not for the reasons some may think, though.

A picture of Lynda Wiesmeier

Lynda and Scott Hunter, an almost unknown actor, share the screen in this iconic scene.

This appears to be your typical 1980s photo at first sight. A young couple, both dressed in classic 1980s fashion, pose in front of a Dodge vehicle. But if you examine more closely, you might find something surprising!

Lynda is wearing high-waisted white shorts with a bright red shirt that is artistically knotted at the waist, while the man is wearing dark shorts and a gray hoodie with multicolored patterns. Back then, short shorts were all the rage, and Scott paired them with corduroy shirts that appeared to be owned by everyone.

Many people find their vintage attire to be a lovely reminiscence to the 1980s. And that’s precisely what’s making this picture so popular.

In the 1980s, fashion was big, loud, and bold, and we embraced a variety of looks, such as preppy, glam rock, and punk.

We could experiment with hairstyles, makeup, colors, and a variety of plastic jewelry and other bizarre items. Thank you, Lynda and Scott, for bringing us back to this wonderful golden period with only a single image from a lesser-known movie.

departed from the field

Following her departure from the movie business, Lynda married and had two amazing children from her first marriage: a son and a daughter.

The family moved to Lafayette, Louisiana, where Lynda worked as the records manager at a legal firm, according to Joyce’s Take.

But then things changed, and in 2004, after a divorce, Lynda packed up her belongings and moved to sunny California in hopes of starting over. Lynda treasured her relationship with her fans even after she moved on. She became well-known at a number of fan conventions, including WonderCon, Glamourcon, and The Hollywood Collectors Show, where she signed signatures and told her story.

Reason for death

Unfortunately, after a valiant fight with a brain tumor, Lynda died in December 2012 at the age of 49, ending her adventure.

Thinking about what she could have said about her roles in movies like Evil Town, a lovely slice of cinematic history that depicts a different age, is a melancholy experience.

However, we can still honor Lynda’s legacy and the happiness she gave her admirers despite her passing. If you also miss the 1980s, please share this article!
