When we first p.u łled it out during the procedure, everyone in the room just stopped and stared at it. At first glance, it looked almost organic — greenish, swollen, covered in strange slime and tangled hairs. One of the assistants even thought it might be some kind of internal g.r σwth or part of a plant.
The dog had been v.o ḿiting for hours and refused to eat, so we already knew something was stuck inside its s.t σmach. But none of us expected to find… this.
The texture was unbelievably strange. Soft in some places, rubbery in others, with little openings and folds that made it look almost alive. After sitting in stomach acid for who knows how long, it had completely changed shape.
We spent nearly half an hour trying to figure it out.
Some people at the clinic guessed:
-
a piece of a cactus
-
part of a chew b.o חe
-
a melted household object
-
even some kind of sea creature 😅
But after cleaning it off more carefully and looking at the shape of the holes and material, we finally realized what it actually was.
👉 It turned out to be part of a KONG-style dog toy made from soft rubber.
The stomach acid had swollen it, discolored it, and warped the shape so badly that it became almost unrecognizable.
Honestly, after years of working as a veterinarian, this is still one of the strangest things I’ve ever seen pulled from a dog’s s.t σmach.
